How We Got Started
In 1970 Martin Hitterman wanted to open a company to support his family. He was working for an auto body repair company when he partnered with John Kerr and opened the doors to their very own repair company named H.K. Truck & Trailer.
HK specialized in truck & trailer body repair and painting. Shortly after their first years in business, John Kerr decided to pursue other business opportunities and sold his shares to Martin Hitterman. H.K. Truck & Trailer has been a family run business ever since.
Family Business
HK is now owned and operated by Barry Hitterman, Martin’s eldest child and only son. Martin now 82 years old, still comes in daily to help run the office. Barry’s sisters, Shushy Hitterman who manages large fleet accounts and operation of HK247 mobile services across Quebec and Donna Hitterman credit and office manager also joined Barry in HK’s daily operations.
Barry is also joined by his new operations partner Christian Brouillette. Christian also has a long history with us as he helped pioneer the mobile road repair services back in the early 80’s, he is part of the HK family history.
We're Growing
Over the years HK’s reputation for service & quality grew, along with it, so did our customer base. We service many large and reputable fleets within Canada. We take customer service very seriously and believe that listening to our customers is our top priority. We build solid relationships so that we can grow along with some of today’s top carriers.
Today H.K. Truck and Trailer has grown; we have over 40 employees and are hiring more weekly. We offer many services such as mechanical repair on both trucks and trailers, welding, modification, preventative maintenance, accident repair, body repair & painting and mobile service across Quebec.
Future Plans
We will soon be opening two additional locations which will be located on the South Shore of Montreal and Quebec City.
