The Théâtre Lyrichorégra 20 was founded in 1976 by the tenor Alain Nonat. It is a Canadian cultural organization with a federal charter and which has a registration number for charitable receipt (11921 4286 RR 0001). It was founded with the support of several personalities from the world of dance and the Opera of Canada and France. He has set himself three main missions:

1-A PUBLIC MISSION

Introduce the general public, young and adult, to the Opera by organizing events outside lyric theaters: schools, shopping centers, cultural centers and exhibitions. His major achievements were the Opera and Dance Pavilion at Terre des Hommes, the Opera Festival in shopping centers, the If the Opera was told to me program in primary schools, exhibitions on the Opera.

2-A MISSION TO HELP THE NEW CANADIAN LYRICS

It is its Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques program, created in 1994, which helps emerging Canadian lyrical artists to begin an international lyrical career by having them heard each year by directors of European lyrical theaters and also by organizing tours for them in Asia. (Korea, China, Japan). This program has helped hundreds of Canadian singers and many of them have performed on the biggest stages of the world.

3- AN INTERNATIONAL MISSION

It is the creation of international lyrical exchanges with more than 20 countries that allows Canada to shine through its lyrical heritage. The Théâtre Lyrichorégra 20 has thus established memoranda of understanding with theaters and lyrical organizations in many countries, thus serving its program to help emerging Canadian lyrical artists. It is also through Les Rencontres Lyriques Internationales de Montréal to offer the Montreal public the opportunity to discover artists from other countries.
