Account Manager for the greater Toronto Area

The opportunity:
The Account Manager’s primary responsibility is to promote and sell electronic media monitoring and analysis solutions to managers and professionals who work in the domains of public relations, communications, library services and marketing in a wide number of industries. The Account Manager identifies and closes business opportunities with potential clients as well as maintaining and expanding relationships in his assigned territory and is responsible for achieving sales quotas and objectives. The Account Manager represents the entire range of company solutions and services, while executing a complex client account planning cycle (3-6 months) and ensuring clients’ needs and expectations are met. The Account Manager reports to the Director of Sales at the Montreal Head Office.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell our solutions;
- Identify opportunities to generate revenues and secure new business;
- Identify and communicate with prospects effectively;
- Expand sales in assigned territory and ensure that client needs are met;
- Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume;
- Act as an ‘’ambassador’’ for us;
- Organize presentations and meetings with prospects and clients;
- Organize and participate in conferences and attend trade shows across Canada;
- Maintain, strengthen and build close business relationships with clients for mid-sized and large companies and government organizations;
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients;
- Attend regular meetings in Montreal.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in a consultative sales environment;
- Five years of proven sales performance in achieving high levels of sales;
- Recognized for natural ability to close sales;
- Strong ability to engage with prospects and secure meetings;
- Solid and wide business network across Canada and primarily in the Toronto area;
- Works well in a remote environment;
- Advanced ability to work in a team environment;
- Highly motivated and results-oriented;
- Superior communication skills.
Highly desirable assets:
- University degree and/or related experience;
- Knowledge of media monitoring and information management industries;
- Good knowledge of the public relations, communications, library services and marketing sectors;
- A strong understanding of the media landscape, social media platforms and analytics for social and traditional media;
- Bilingual (English/ French);
- Working knowledge of a CRM system.
