Job description :

Responsible for managing both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff and functions including policies, system of internal accounting controls, statistical analysis, and accruals and expense reporting

Task and responsibilities :

  • Contributes to strategic plan by implementing company production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards;
  • Leads, retains, and motivates A/P and A/R staff to ensure optimum utilization of the department and provide the highest levels of service;
  • Responsible for overseeing all projects, vendors, and suppliers;
  • Authorize all departmental transactions;
  • Ability to enforce company policies, delegate task, and forecast future operations;
  • Collects accounts by contacting customers referred by clerks;
  • Reviews and manages department work flow, and assists with vendor and employee enquiries to ensure a timely resolution;
  • Establishes controls for financial systems & develops procedures to improve existing systems;
  • Puts processes in place to measure results on a monthly basis and meets regularly with staff to achieve or exceed goals;
  • Promotes a team environment and provides work direction and guidance;
  • Resolve conflict quickly and effectively;
  • Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Minimum requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA an asset;
  • CPA certification;
  •  6-8 years direct experience in either a A/R or A/P capacity;
  • 3 years or more experience in a managerial role;
  • Fluently bilingual in French and English, written and spoken;
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP and/or CRM software; as well as knowledge of Simply Accounting (AS/400);
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines;
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy;
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills;
  • Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial reports.
