Assistant Director - Technical Representative (Automation and Control)

Our client is a supplier of electrical and automation products and systems for the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. They are among the leaders in their field. They are currently looking for an Assistant Director / Technical Representative (automation and control).

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the regional director, you will be tasked with the company’s business development through work as a representative and providing support to various industrial clients. In addition, you will coordinate and provide technical support to the sales team – automation & control, serve as the company’s representative for an important exclusive product line, and provide unparalleled customer service.

• Carry out any other task related to your duties.
• Stay informed about all activities in your sector, with regards to clientele, competition, and products;
• Produce various reports in order to support service activities and to ensure that they are updated;
• Document client problems in order to offer corrective action;
• Offer support to existing clients, innovating and bringing forward solutions tailored to clients’ needs;
• Coordinate territory meetings;
• Coordinate marketing activities (meetings, trade shows, supplier relations) between an exclusive supplier and the company;
• Take an active role in the sales process: presentations, tenders, interacting with suppliers, client negotiations;
• Solicit sales from all existing and potential clients and suggest the company's full range of products;
• Prospect out and solicit potential clients and vigorously pursue their business;
• Provide the primary technical support for general sales staff in your territory;

Required qualification

• College diploma in electrical engineering, industrial electronics, vocational diploma in automated systems electromechanicals, or other relevant education and training;
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in automation and control;
• Familiar with the market in the greater Montreal area;
• Highly fluent in spoken and written French and English;
• Skilled with negotiations and persuasion;
• Experience with sales and/or as a technical representative in the field of automation and control is considered a significant asset.
