Job Profile

The assistant operator’s main function is to assist the extrusion operator with the daily manufacturing operations. The main duties are to prepare the equipment and materials required to produce the plastic film and supply the extrusion (production) line.

Employment Conditions

• Full-Time job (weeks of 36 and 48 hours) and permanent.
• Day and night rotation shifts; 7AM - 7PM and 7PM – 7AM (7 days of work out of 14 and 1 weekend out of 2).
• A night shift premium in the amount of $ 2.00/hour is applicable from 11PM to 7AM.

Key Functions

• Read and understand the communication book, in order to follow the instruction.
• Cut and verify the measurements of the core, and prepare pallets.
• Verify, inspect & clean the extruder.
• Complete production reports according to the operator’ requirements.
• Assist the operator when repairing or checking defective equipment.
• Help in the machine set-up when starting the machine according to the production parameters.
• Prepare workstations and equipment.
• Feed the machine with the raw material.
• Quality control of production according to established standards.
• Keep the work environment clean, organised and safe at all times.
• When needed, perform all other required tasks according to directives.

Experience and Job Requirements

• Completed High School Diploma or in progress.
• 6 months to 1 year experience as a laborer in a manufacturing company.
• Experience in using a pallet truck (asset).
• Comply with deadlines and instructions.
• Good physical condition.
• English Knowledge (intermediate level).
• Ability to cooperate and work as a team.
