Our client is a large company specializing in the rolling and casting of metal products. They are currently looking for an assistant quality supervisor.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the quality director, within an ISO 9001 context, your job will be to support production in order to ensure that quality standards are respected in the factory, meeting the company's quality objectives.

  • Ensure that quality standards are respected at the plant;
  • Conduct physical and chemical tests on various products and give instructions for changes to production;
  • Prepare certificates of qualification and send them to clients;
  • Start up and make necessary adjustments to certain process systems;
  • Maintain and calibrate measuring and test equipment;
  • Make the decisions needed to carry out corrective measures related to product quality/compliance;
  • Fill in for the supervisor when he is absent;
  • Assist the supervisor in managing production operations;
  • Supervise the production team when the supervisor is absent (whether short- or long-term);
  • Perform research and development work in order to improve quality/efficiency, in addition to preventing nonconformity;
  • Compile and analyze quality data associated with the product and recommend appropriate actions or corrective measures;
  • Work together with the other members of the group of supervisors in order to solve manufacturing and quality problems if they arise;
  • Supervise the inspector with regards to quality, inform him of new standards, criteria, or requirements from the clients relating to the various evaluation processes and quality standards;
  • Prepare and deliver training sessions for plant employees with regards to processes and quality;
  • Investigate client complaints;
  • Perform internal audits in order to evaluate processes and establish corrective measures, if need be;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • College diploma in metallurgy or other relevant education/training;
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience;
  • Available to work rotating shifts;
  • Proficient with standard computer-based tools.
