Assistant Technical Supervisor (Building Maintenance)

Our client is a fully integrated asset management and real estate management company (office buildings and industrial buildings), with offices in Toronto, Montréal, and Québec City. They are currently looking for an assistant technical supervisor.

Nature of position

Answering to the Technical Services Supervisor, your job will be to take part in the maintenance activities of the building, with the help of a team made up of about ten people, in order to ensure the long life of equipment and the well-being of users.

• Carry out any other task related to your duties.
• Run the existing maintenance management system (Maximo);
• Encourage the implementation of best management practices in the spirit of ongoing improvement;
• Supervise emergency measures and take the necessary action to ensure that the workplace is safe;
• Ensure that laws, technical regulations, and workplace health and safety regulations are respected;
• Write up monthly operations reports as needed;
• Develop a technical operations manual in compliance with the main environmental certifications, such as LEED and BOMA BESt;
• Operate the digital control system Johnson Control Metasys (adjusting set points, schedule changes, etc.);
• Coordinate and supervise work done by specialized outside contractors;
• Assist the supervisor in monitoring and controlling the budget;
• Identify corrective and preventative maintenance needs;
• Monitor the quality of customer service and meet with tenants as needed;
• Assist the Technical Services Supervisor in identifying priorities, planning, and controlling the operations of the technical services staff;

Required qualification

• College diploma in building mechanicals or any other relevant field or an equivalent combination of studies and practical experience in the field;
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
• Able to design and manage small projects of an architectural and electromechanical nature and to produce technical surveys;
• Proficient with the Autocad suite;
• Able to write up documents of a technical nature, such as technical operations manuals, and to supervise specialized contractors;
• Familiar with the main environmental certifications.
