Automated production line solution specialist

Our client is a well-established, quickly expanding company that operates internationally in the bottling, food, and packaging industry. They specialize in the design, manufacture, and installation of conveyor systems, and the distribution and integration of packaging equipment. The company is currently looking for an automated production line solution specialist for their facilities in the Montérégie area.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Technical Director, you will have as main responsibility to create the 2D design of automated production lines in the food, bottling and packaging industry while respecting the environmental constraints and customer specifications. In addition, you will be in charge to do the cost estimate with various tools preparing the technical file for the submission department. As such, you will :

• Support the representative throughout meeting with the client ;
• Gather and/or validate the informations to start the project design (RFQ reading, meeting with the representative or directly with the customer) ;
• Take on-site statements when necessary ;
• Take products measures ;
• Carry out the production line design on the Autocad software ;
• Implement efficient measures to improve financial results ;
• Actively collaborate to meet the customer needs by being innovative ;
• Research different machinery and/or components and their prices from our suppliers ;
• Calculate and collect the solution costs in an Excel file ;
• Explain the equipement layout plan to the submission writer and/or the representative ;
• Write submissions occasionally ;
• Perform a follow-up with the home-account customers ;
• Liaising between the estimate and sites ;
• Participate in project start-meetings regarding the knowledges transfer to the engineering department ;
• Attend and participate in pipeline meetings (priority management of the new opportunities) gestion des priorités du vivier des opportunités) ;
• Carry out every other tasks compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

• DEC in mechanical engineering or any other relevant training ;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in design ;
• Have good knowledges in production line equipment ;
• Knowledges in the software Autocad or any other DAO software ;
• Proficiency in french and english (written and spoken) ;
• Excellent priority management ;
• Show exellent communication skills.
