Automation and control technician

Our client is a manufacturing company specializing in processing plastics through the process of extrusion; they primarily manufacture products for the food and cosmetics industries, as well as producing labels for mass consumption products. They are currently looking for an electrical engineer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, your job will be to carry out general plant maintenance; more specifically dealing with electrical and electronic components of various types of manufacturing equipment.

• Carry out any other task related to your duties.
• Advise operators on the safe and appropriate use of equipment;
• Work closely with the production team in order to respect production and delivery deadlines;
• Help improve and install equipment/machines as needed;
• Write up and update maintenance and repair reports;
• Keep tools in good condition, respect work procedures, and follow standards and procedures for workplace safety;
• Make sure that equipment is adjusted and calibrated so as to provide optimal production performance;
• Respond to emergency calls from production;
• Ensure that principals of preventative maintenance are followed;
• Carry out maintenance on industrial electronic units;

Required qualification

• College diploma in industrial electronics, industrial maintenance, electrical engineering, or other relevant education;
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience;
• Must hold an electrical journeyman’s certificate (Licence C; non-construction);
• Knowledgeable about programmable automatons (Siemens and Allen Bradley);
• Available to work rotating shifts.
