Automation Project Supervisor

Our client is a company specializing in the development and manufacture of measuring and fibre-optic control devices. They are recognized as a leader in their field, with sales in more than 75 countries. They are currently looking for an automation project supervisor.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations and Engineering, you will be in charge of the development of new automated production equipment and improvements to existing equipment in order to automate production and to increase the company's manufacturing capabilities. In addition, you will maintain the company's manufacturing stations (including automated systems, measuring instruments, and vision systems).

• Establish initial requirements and set technical objectives (systems engineering) for projects;
• Design new equipment and perform modifications and/or improvements on existing equipment in order to improve the productivity thereof;
• Evaluate the feasibility of various projects;
• Define, develop, and transfer new equipment and improvements to existing equipment;
• Provide technical support on production equipment as needed;
• Produce documentation and validate equipment at start-up;
• Evaluate development and manufacturing costs;
• As needed, solicit bids from suppliers, select suppliers, and purchase the parts / equipment;
• Maintain the company's various pieces of equipment;
• Program and integrate programmable automatons and control systems;
• Set up new equipment, take part in start-up, and ensure that performance requirements are met;
• Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automated production engineering, or mechanical engineering; or college diploma in industrial electronics, engineering physics, mechanical engineering, or other relevant education;
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience;
• Fluent in spoken and written French and English;
• Highly proficient with automation.
