Our client is a company specializing in the design and manufacture of specialized modular buildings targeted at a wide range of industries (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical, high tech, semiconductors, the optical industry, etc.). They are currently looking for a draftsperson.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the head of engineering and working from designs approved by clients, your job will mainly consist of producing manufacturing drawings and assembly drawings for the buildings manufactured by the company.

  • Prepare the full shop packet for a project to be manufactured in a factory;
  • Prepare parts draws on AutoCAD;
  • Actively contribute to mechanical design;
  • Produce cost sheets;
  • Prepare bills of materials for the purchasing department;
  • Produce location drawings on occasion for client approval;
  • Contribute to improvements in existing methods;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • Vocational diploma in building drafting, industrial drafting, or other relevant education/training;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes;
  • Skilled with the MS Office suite;
  • Knowledge of and experience with sheet metal is an asset;
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or 3D drawing is an asset;
  • Good working knowledge of English (reading and writing).
