Building maintenance technician
Our client, a recognized and well established university in Quebec, composed of four thematic, multidisciplinary and sectoral research and training centers, is currently seeking a building maintenance technician.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the Centre's Administration Manager, your main mandate will be to carry out or have carried out, under general supervision and in collaboration with other employees, work related to the development, security, general and preventive maintenance and minor repairs to the grounds, buildings and furnishings, as well as the supervision of the execution of related contracts, while paying close attention to sustainable development issues. As such you will :
- Assists in the planning, preparation, coordination and follow-up of development, redevelopment, relocation and maintenance work related to the grounds, buildings and furniture and participates in their execution as required ;
- Follows up, verifies the execution and reports on all maintenance contracts and services for the grounds and building, furniture and equipment and systems such as security, parking, housekeeping and outdoor green spaces and ensures the budgetary follow-up of his department within the determined parameters ;
- Ensure the application of the preventive maintenance program for the various systems and equipment of the grounds, building and furniture. With the help of software, you will ensure the follow-up of the various operations of access management to the building, the fire alarm system, the control of the security cameras, the various control systems of the machine room. With his team, you will be the contact person for the programming and management of the building's access cards and keys ;
- Follow up on user requests for repairs such as mechanical, electrical, furniture and equipment; verify the validity of the request and proceed with maintenance work and minor repairs or adjustments that do not require a card or certificate of competency or, if necessary, call upon the services of specialized firms according to the standards in effect ;
- Identify the consequences of the work and repairs on the operation and normal activities of the site and informs the administration in order to ensure their smooth running ;
- Coordinate the various service interruptions required to carry out the work ;
- Maintains an inventory of materials and supplies required for maintenance and repairs and ensures that they are supplied as required ;
- Periodically take readings of indicators, fill out various reports when required and maintain the inventory of the distribution of premises, equipment and furniture and take care of the reception of goods ;
- As needed, supervise and verify the work of one or more persons in the trades and services group and introduce new employees to the work ;
- Temporarily performs the duties of a related position or exceptionally the duties of a lower position when required. The above list of duties and responsibilities is intended to be general and indicative.
Required qualification
- High school diploma or other appropriate discipline ;
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience ;
- Increased knowledge of building and ability to read existing plans;
- Good knowledge of the French language, spoken and written ;
- Knowledge of Kantech EntraPass, Orca, Exact vision, CMMS (an asset) ;
- Knowledge of the English language (an asset) ;
- Excellent work organization and respect of deadlines.
