Building Project Manager

Our client, a construction contractor specializing in building construction, is currently looking for a project manager.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of company management, your job will be to manage various building construction sites, through the on-site foremen, within specified budgets and deadlines, working closely with various parties involved in the company.

• Oversee projects from acceptance through to final payment;
• Help prepare bids and estimates;
• Produce detailed schedules (based on the previously established initial timelines);
• Have someone prepare contracts and purchase orders;
• Lead weekly worksite meetings;
• Coordinate quality control with the various parties involved;
• Coordinate activities with the company's foremen;
• Take responsibility for managing the budget related to carrying out the work in order to have a projected final cost ready at all times;
• Take responsibility for managing worksite safety;
• Ensure that various administrative documents (CSST, insurance, etc.) are completed before work begins on projects and kept up to date as need be;
• Have extra work approved;
• Work alongside foremen to hire workers for the sites;
• Identify extra work required and claim costs from the owner's representative;
• Carry out any other related tasks.

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering, college diploma in civil engineering, or other relevant education and training;
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience;
• Knowledgeable of Québec construction laws and regulations;
• Knowledgeable of and proficient with computer software such as Word, Excel, and MS Project.
