Buyer

Our client is a large manufacturing company specializing in the design, manufacture, and installation of a wide range of equipment for the manufacturing sector, with an international client base. They are currently looking for a buyer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the procurement manager, your job will primarily consist of making sure parts are in supply in order to support the after-sales service department, in addition to ensuring that the supply management system is working efficiently.

• Negotiate with vendors and/or suppliers in order to obtain the best prices and delivery times;
• Find suppliers for the required products;
• Follow up on orders and reorders as needed;
• Prepare, send, and analyze bid solicitations / purchase orders;
• Coordinate with the store on delivery and provision of parts for clients;
• Work efficiently with the computerized system (MRP);
• Ensure that suppliers listed in the data base respect the requirements of the company's quality program;
• Develop and maintain a supplier data base;
• Analyze inventory reports and buying activities;
• Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

• College business diploma or any other relevant education;
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant supply experience;
• Functionally bilingual (spoken and written French and English);
• Proficient with the MS Office suite, the Windows environment, and an MRP-type system;
• Experience working with purchasing in the manufacturing sector is considered a significant asset;
• Able to manage various files simultaneously;
• Comfortable with interpersonal communication and priority management; customer service oriented;
• Skilled at reading industrial drawings;
• Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and other related fields is considered an asset;
• Strong negotiation skills.
