Construction Superintendent (Building)

Our client, a construction contractor specializing in the construction of buildings for medium- to large-scale institutions, is currently looking for a construction superintendent.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the CEO, your job will be to plan, organize, oversee, and monitor the full range of construction activities taking place on the sites for which you are responsible.

• Plan and manage a team made up of various tradesmen;
• Carry out the administration work in the field office;
• Coordinate the various subcontractors;
• Supervise start-up of construction and monitor the work as it progresses;
• Plan the work schedules and ensure that they are respected;
• Take part in meetings with various parties involved in projects;
• Correct plans as necessary;
• Order materials;
• Monitor the quality of work done and ensure that contractual obligations are respected;
• Ensure that workplace health and safety regulations are respected.

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or architecture; or college diploma in civil engineering; or other relevant education and training;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent for public sector projects;
• Familiar with standard computer-based tools;
• Functionally bilingual (spoken and written English and French).
