Developer-Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Information Technology Department supports application development and maintenance of systems for the various business units and its subsidiaries. The Application Analyst position requires a self-starting, problem solving, motivated individual who enjoys working in a dynamic trading environment.

The successful candidate will join an internal team of technical trading specialists who support the Securities Lending business within Global Equity Derivatives and work closely with the Business and Technology groups to drive towards strategic objectives. This role is located in Toronto; some travel to the Montreal and NY offices may be required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support and contribute to the on-going development of the trading system and all lines of business activity.
• Update existing Perl, Shell, and Java code.
• Coordinate multiple lines of business to ensure successful completion of project deliverables.
• Analyze data and gather requirements for the purposes of defining business needs/functionality and developing flexible solutions
• Respect deadlines and communicate progress to the business and technology management team.

REQUIREMENTS

• Possesses solid analytical skills for complex problem solving.
• Advanced knowledge of Unix shell scripting and Perl scripting; Java; comfortable in Unix environment
• Possesses a university degree/college diploma in applied technologies - experience in systems analysis and programming
• Possesses advanced knowledge of design and analysis methodology and application development processes
• Previous experience working with Capital Markets desks
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Nice to have knowledge - MQ Series, RDBMS, Tableau, Python
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge and experience with Trading and Securities Finance applications (like equity trading, securities lending and repo) or completion of Canadian Security Course (CSC) is an asset
