DIRECTOR GENERAL
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the KMHB’s Board of Directors, the Director General will provide leadership to guide the successful execution of KMHB’s mission, vision and mandate. He will be responsible for the effective development, management, administration and delivery of KMHB’s programs, operations and related support services. KMHB has an annual operating budget of more than $100 million. It employs about 150 individuals, 80% percent of which are Inuit.
The successful candidate will ensure that the operations of KMHB promote the delivery of effective high-quality client services to meet the needs of the region and achieve the best possible client outcomes while providing sound financial management. He will serve as a spokesperson for the organization and will represent KMHB to partners and various community and industry stakeholders. He will forge a solid partnership with the Board and effectively manage the organization’s affairs.
- Ensure the carrying out of all KMHB plans, programs and related support services in accordance with public funding and other requirements. Ensure they are delivered and maintained in an effective and efficient manner;
- Manage and administer all financial responsibilities and obligations in order to ensure that the organization is operating within established financial legislations, terms and conditions;
- Provide support and advice to the KMHB’s Board of Directors in order to ensure Board Members are aware of operations and able to make informed decisions on KMHB strategies;
- Develop and promote a positive and productive KMHB work culture;
- Represent and maintain good relationship with all stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
Education, experience and knowledge
- Undergraduate degree in Administration or any other appropriate and relevant field;
- Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant management experience. All previous experience with municipal housing offices or regional organizations will be considered a major asset;
- Knowledge of financial, human resources and program management;
- Knowledge of property management including construction and maintenance management;
- Experience working with a Board of Directors.

- Ability to work under pressure on various projects and simultaneously manage several priorities;
- To be eligible, the incumbent should be able to work in two of the region’s three languages (Inuktitut, French and English);
- Availability to travel within and outside of the Kativik region.
