Director of Business Development – 13892R

Our client is the owner of a manufacturing technology used in the production processes of major corporations in the pulp and paper and metallurgical industries. The company is growing and is currently seeking to fill the position of Director of Business Development for its national and international operations.

Key responsibilities :

The Director of Business Development is responsible for stimulating demand and purchases from existing and prospective customers, growing the company’s market share and promoting its product offering among its main clients so as to optimize the financial benefits for all stakeholders. In conjunction with the Director of Research and Development, the incumbent participates in the development and follow-up of projects as needed. He/she also coordinates and oversees product marketing and sales. More specifically, the Director of Business Development is required to:

  • Devise business development strategies and establish an operating budget in order to meet sales targets;
  • Foster and maintain strategic business ties at all hierarchical levels within existing and prospective client companies;
  • Respond to requests from customers and see to their complete satisfaction;
  • Meet or exceed sales targets;
  • Attend and contribute to weekly Management Committee meetings;
  • Participate in developing and marketing new products, establishing the pricing strategy and implementing distribution channels, as needed;
  • Ensure the website is updated.

Challenges

  • Maintain strong business relationships with established customers, engineering research and consulting firms, and industrial equipment companies
  • Promote national and international business development

Profile :

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or any training related to the position;
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience;
  • Technical equipment and international sales experience;
  • Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written, a must;
  • Results-oriented;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Business acumen, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to prospect and close sales.

The chosen candidate can work from home or on the employer’s premises. Note that the position involves frequent travel.
