Drafting Room Manager (Ventilation)

Our client is a rapidly expanding contractor specializing in air conditioning, refrigeration, and heading. They offer their clientele a full-service approach, taking on each project from the design stage and seeing it through to installation and of course, after-sales service. They serve the commercial and industrial sectors. They are currently looking for a manager for their drafting room.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of company management, your job will be to coordinate and provide technical support to a team of draftsmen, as well as actively contributing to the development of technical drawings or various projects.

• Carry out any other task related to your duties.
• Answer questions and requests for clarification from various involved parties;
• Help, check on, and train draftsmen with less experience;
• Analyze reported problems and suggest solutions;
• Work in cooperation with project managers and technical representatives;
• Help prepare the bill of materials (BOM) needed to manufacture a project;
• Produce complete ventilation designs to be manufactured and installations of various degrees of difficulty based on established standards and practices;
• Analyze timeframes for carrying out plans in technical drawings in order to respect deadlines;
• Establish the resources and time required to carry out various projects;
• Ensure that the standards for integration and manufacturing plans are respected;
• Direct and supervise the drafting team;

Required qualification

• College diploma in mechanical engineering or building engineering; vocational diploma in industrial design, building design, or any other relevant education and training;
• Proficient with Autocad;
• Proficiency with Revit design software is considered an asset;
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience;
• A significant amount of experience working with ventilation or with air treatment systems.
