Draftsperson - Designer (structure and building envelope)

Our client is a sizeable company specializing in the design, manufacture, and installation of industrial and commercial steel buildings. They are currently looking for a structural and building envelope draftsperson / designer to join the ranks of their engineering department.

Nature of position

Answering to the technical director, your job will primarily consist of designing architectural details for the company’s various projects, in keeping with applicable standards.

• Produce/design architectural details;
• Check approval drawings (architecture), steel structure designs, and foundation plans;
• Provide good technical management of the projects assigned to you;
• Work closely with technicians and engineers;
• Check shop drawings and quantities of materials needed in building construction;
• Take part in departmental improvement meetings;
• Design using Revit and AutoCAD;
• Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

• College diploma in architecture, in civil engineering, or other relevant education;
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
• Familiar with architectural details and metal cladding;
• Ability to check shop drawings (steel structures) is an asset;
• Proficient with AutoCAD;
• Proficiency with Revit is considered a significant asset;
• Fluent in spoken and written French and English;
• Proficient with standard computer-based tools.
