Electrical Designer - Programmer of Industrial Equipment

Our client is a manufacturing company and a Canadian leader in their field, specializing in the design and manufacture of equipment for surface treatment and air treatment for a wide range of industries (aeronautics, aluminum smelter, construction, energy, foundry). They are currently looking for a designer / programmer for automated equipment.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the head of engineering, your job will be to design and assemble electrical components (electrical panels) for various pieces of equipment manufactured by the company, to program programmable automatons (PLCs), and to perform, when necessary, on-site installation and start-up of equipment for clients.

• Design custom electrical panels for machinery;
• Carry out the electrical assembly of panels;
• Program and integrate programmable automatons (primarily Schneider and Omron;
• Program operator interfaces (HMI);
• Find available components and establish a list of material necessary for each project;
• Take part in equipment start-up on occasion and ensure that required functionality and performance are respected;
• Help produce user manuals when necessary;
• Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

• College diploma in electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or any other relevant education and training;
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience;
• Experience programming PLCs and man-machine interfaces;
• Highly knowledgeable of electrical panels;
• Functionally bilingual (spoken and written French and English);
• Knowledge of CSA standards (an asset);
• Proficient with standard computer-based tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, and data base management);
• Knowledge in data exportation is considered an asset;
• Valid driver’s license.
