Our client is a manufacturing company that is well-established in the province of Quebec, specializing in the development and production of products for the residential construction/renovation sector. They are currently looking for an electrical project technician.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of and in cooperation with the electrical projects specialist, you will ensure that the electrical projects assigned to you are carried out and work well. In addition, you will provide support and training for the electrical maintenance team in order to ensure that the company's equipment is reliable and undergoes electrical improvements.

  • Troubleshoot causes of electrical failures and find solutions;
  • Make sure electrical plans are compliant with regulations and are updated;
  • Take charge of developing, promoting, and maintaining the company's lockout programs;
  • See to it that the electrical maintenance department's documentation and training is up to date and sufficient;
  • Work closely with the automation specialist to control costs and timeframes for projects assigned to you;
  • Develop concepts, write up plans and specifications, and conduct feasibility studies, and then get the project approved by your supervisor;
  • Program programmable automatons;
  • Ensure that projects assigned to you respect health and safety regulations;
  • Design and produce technical drawings of certain control systems necessary for the manufacturing process;
  • Make sure electrical plans are compliant with regulations and are updated;
  • Perform software updates necessary for the programming of automatons and/or human-machine interfaces;
  • Research and stay on top of technological developments;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • College diploma in industrial electronics, electrical engineering, or computerized systems; or vocational diploma in automated systems electromechanics; or other relevant education;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Highly knowledgeable of automated control environments (automatons, interface, industrial data processing);
  • Very skilled in programming Omron and Allen Bradley automatons;
  • Proficient with the MS Office suite.
