Our client, a high-tech company with a multi-disciplinary team committed to designing innovative energy storage and delivery solutions for electric vehicles, is currently seeking an Electronic/Electrical Design Engineer to continue its growth.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering and in close collaboration with the engineering, sales and production team, your main mandate will be to carry out research and development projects by participating in the electronic design activities on the various projects active in the company, from the initial phase of the project to the market launch. In addition, you will actively participate in the idea generation process, synchronize your activities with the rest of the team and document the various aspects related to testing. As such you will :

  • Participate in the definition of the specifications and lead the process of choosing the electrical concepts ;
  • Carry out detailed design, characterize and qualify electrical components, electronic boards, metrology systems and electrical power distribution systems ;
  • Conduct or participate in the experimental validation of products ;
  • Interact with suppliers to improve the manufacturing of parts ;
  • Interact with customers to improve products and keep up to date with new requirements ;
  • Collaborate in the planning and follow-up of projects ;
  • Complete product certification tasks ;
  • Mentor the engineering team ;
  • Carry out every other task compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or any other relevant training ;
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec ;
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical product design ;
  • Knowledge of design methodologies ;
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and certification ;
  • Knowledge of Altium software (an asset) ;
  • Experience in the design of products for hostile environments (an asset) ;
  • Fluency in French and English (both oral and written).
