Our client is a company specializing in the design and manufacture of conveyors, specialized equipment, and components designed for grinding in quarries, mines, and other related industries. They are currently looking for an engineering coordinator.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the CEO, your job will be to take technical leadership in matters related to engineering, to coordinate the team in place (2 to 3 people), and to provide technical support to the production team and project management.

  • Plan and prepare work to be done on various projects;
  • Prepare and contribute to work schedules and make sure they are followed;
  • Coordinate the employees of the engineering department;
  • Actively take part in mechanical design of equipment and parts based on plans and specifications, as well as client demands;
  • Produce designs and calculations related to the structural elements of manufactured equipment;
  • Perform activities related to R&D;
  • Check and approve production drawings;
  • Take the necessary steps to solve problems along the way;
  • Provide support to the sales team, to installers, and to clients;
  • Help draw up operation manuals and assembly procedures;
  • Perform feasibility and cost studies when needed;
  • Supervise special projects, the development of new projects, etc.;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or any other relevant engineering education and training;
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English;
  • Proficient with the MS Office suite;
  • Proficient with 3D design software (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, etc.);
  • Significant experience with equipment design.
