Our client, an important manufacturing company, recognized world leader, specialized in the manufacture of parts and components for on-road and off-road vehicles is currently looking for an Engineering team manager.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Director of Product Development, you will be responsible for managing a team of mechanical engineers and designers in the improvement of systems for various applications, mainly agricultural. In addition, you will be responsible for coordinating the engineering activities of your team in the execution of various projects and mandates. As such, you will :

  • Lead a design group to improve the track system (local and international team) ;
  • Prioritize and direct the work of his team, keeping in mind the required timeframe, performance pace and budgets, while following the product development process (PPD) and engineering standards ;
  • Validate concepts and requirements to ensure they meet performance and cost requirements;
  • Support the team in load and structural calculations and lead design reviews (internal and with the customer) ;
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers and guide engineering exchanges with customers and the product line manager ;
  • Identify potential for improvement or new products to remain innovative in the off-highway market ;
  • Ensure the execution of the Engineering Change Request (ECR / ECN) process for the products under his/her responsibility ;
  • Ensure the development of team members in the various aspects of their work ;
  • Perform every other task compatible with your function.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant education ;
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in mechanical or structural engineering and product development, from ideation to commissioning ;
  • Experience in the field of systems engineering on heavy equipment (an asset) ;
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) ;
  • Mastery of engineering processes (PDP, ECN) ;
  • Functional bilingualism in French and English, both oral and written ;
  • Available for occasional travel.
