Our client is a company specializing in high-end architectural woodworking, primarily serving the food industry, chain stores, general contractors, and residential clients, is currently looking for an estimator / project manager.

Nature of position

In cooperation with company management, your job will consist of estimating the costs of each project upon which the company is invited to tender, as well as to manage various projects.

  • Write up tenders based on estimates, architects' specifications, and clients' layout plans;
  • Monitor projects with professionals at building sites;
  • Negotiate contract changes and perform the administrative follow-up with subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers;
  • Coordinate installation work;
  • Hire subcontractors;
  • Organize work site operations;
  • Visit and take measurements at work sites;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • College diploma in furniture making and woodworking, vocational diploma in mass furniture production and machined lumber, in woodworking, or any other relevant education/training;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Highly skilled in reading plans and specifications;
  • Fluent in spoken and written French and English;
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or other design software;
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite;
  • Well-acquainted with an integrated management system.
