Fashion Wholesale Controller / finance Director (CPA)
Our fast-paced wholesale/retail fashion company is looking for a highly organized, Controller to run our accounting department.
This candidate must be diligent and hardworking with a Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience in billing, credit and collection in Wholesale Apparel or Fashion company.
This role is responsible for the strategic financial execution
- Budgeting
- Planning
- Forecasting
- Reporting.
- Lead a team of direct and indirect reports
- Continually improve business practices and processes
- Manage all costing and margins
- Efficiently manage inventory control.
- Experience in the apparel industry is mandatory
Duties will include:
- Assurance of timely cash application review for cash flow & analysis
- Work closely with Sales & Logistics teams
- Prepare the annual budget by establishing schedules
- Collecting, analyzing, & consolidating financial data
- Recommending plans and quarterly forecasting process.
- Manage cost control within approved budget
- Prepare & present monthly close
- Review and analyze periodic financial results and discuss the Owner
- Provide backup support & final approval on the organization's payroll function, verifying the accuracy of payroll.
- Manage and own the financial accounting processes
- Improve and implement administrative procedures to improve the administrative organization
- Administrator on all bank accounts of the company
- Supervise initiation of new accounts and management of credits limits
- Control of order holds and releases
- Manage and follow up on AR and chargeback reconciliation
- Management of account terms, documentation and up-to-date payment processes including credit card accounts, ACH, tax-exempt forms and general documentation on file and active for all accounts
- Monitoring and reporting on deviations from credit standards
- Reporting as requested to senior management
- Payroll management
- Manage A/P and A/R
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in the wholesale apparel industry is mandatory
- Experience in managing a team
- Experience working with department stores across North America
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong time and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Excel and QuickBooks
