In the heart of Montreal’s Plateau Mont-Royal, Mighty Cast is redefining social mobility with its first product offering – the NEX Band. The NEX Band is the world's first proximity detecting, collectible, bi-directional and fashionable wearable device. Through its patent-pending technology and proprietary platform, The NEX Band connects physical collectible and shareable objects with mobile applications in a naturally viral way - ostensibly, creating a "console on the wrist". Combining the efforts of international jewelry designers and technological engineers into a single band, the NEX is both beauty and geek.

The Role

Mighty Cast is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our creative team in the Plateau.
She/He will create beautiful mobile experiences, help build and establish Mighty Cast’s consumer brand and create compelling marketing across all consumer touch points. It is essential that they understand the commercial world and how brands need to inspire and reach audiences.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution and production of new and existing concepts, providing complete deliverables while keeping the brand guidelines in mind.
• Assist in creating UIs and layouts by exploring appropriate design principles such as color, typography, and photographic selection for the brand, organizing elements and usability.
• Perform some photo manipulation on product photos whenever needed.
• Provide rationale for design choices; ensure design meets business objectives as stated in creative brief.
• Bring a strong sense of creativity to every project with the practical expertise to help complete jobs in a timely manner.
• Collaborate closely with other designers and management on creative concepts, providing guidance on design as well as production logistics.
• Ensure that the brand remains consistent across different mediums/channels.

About You

• At minimum, a completed D.E.C. in Graphic Design or related field.
• 6 months of industry experience is preferred.
• Mastery of Adobe's Creative Suite.
• You present a striking design portfolio that demonstrates an obvious proficiency in branding by means of various mobile and web projects.
• Skills in illustration and photography are a huge plus.
• You are user focused: curious and empathetic about our users and customers.
• You appreciate critical feedback (both giving and receiving) and seek it out in reviews with peers and stakeholders.
• You are excellent at communicating concepts and advocate design decisions to cross-functional teams using a variety of methods, including conversations, sketches, digital tools and presentations.
• You have a strong knowledge of responsive/mobile/web design best practices. You also have a good understanding of HTML, CSS, and Web Standards as it relates to design.
• You possess a hard-working disposition along with a friendly and approachable personality - a strong sense of collaboration and camaraderie is highly valued.
• You are self-motivated, organized and accountable.
• You have an undeniable passion for what you do.
