SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT

Must be eligible to emploi Quebec’s subvention program « expérience » and must have the eligibility letter in your possession. You can get information about this program in a local employment center. (CLE)

ROLE

The human resources intern is responsible for implementing the general management’s development strategy, through the planning, application, and evaluation of HR programs, policies, and recruitment activities. They are responsible for hiring interns and volunteers, and they manage the personnel on an ongoing basis. They work closely with the general management, the projects committee, and the field committee to meet the organization’s needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the tasks listed, other responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Manage the recruiting process for interns, contract workers, service providers, and volunteers; and decide with the general management and/or relevant department which candidates to retain.
  • Establish and apply candidate selection criteria, and interview potential candidates.
  • Ensure the recruitment plan follows the organization’s overall direction and needs.
  • Sign contracts with interns, contract workers, service providers, and volunteers.
  • Assist new members in their new roles and as part of the team.
  • Prepare twice-monthly reports for the general management.
  • Represent SPA Canada at volunteer fairs, chambers of commerce, and private philanthropic organizations.
  • Develop partnerships with institutions and businesses.
  • Manage human resource needs and ensure good governance of the SPA Canada’s projects and administrative department.
  • Perform evaluations of personnel, interns, contract workers, service providers, and volunteers.
  • Collect employee requests, suggestions, and comments, and ensure a high level of employee satisfaction in resolving problems.
  • Ensure human resource policies are respected and applied.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of different human resource initiatives.
  • Encourage open communication with employees and managers, answer HR questions, and explain HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage job listings and skill evaluation systems.
  • Keep HR information up to date, and manage files.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Commitment to supporting the goals and values of SPA Canada.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in administration or human resources, AND/OR
  • Relevant professional experience.

SCHEDULE:  Full-time, permanent.
