Telops Inc., founded in 2000 and located in Quebec City, Canada, is a company specializing in the design and manufacture of hyperspectral imagers and high performance infrared cameras for defense, academic research and Industrial development. Telops Inc. also offers research and development (R & D) services in optical systems technology to meet the specific needs of its customers in several parts of the world (North America, Europe, Asia, Middle East, Etc.). Currently growing, we are currently looking for a : Junior Business Development Manager

Permanent position – East Coast of the United States (Washington, Baltimore, Columbus or Atlanta)

Under the direct authority of the Sales Manager, the candidate will provide an important role within the team at the qualification of new business opportunities. It will also include assessing the needs of customers, offer solutions and be able to close the sale. In addition, the candidate will also be heavily involved in the loyalty of our future customers by providing excellent customer service.

More specifically, the candidate will have to:

  • Identify business opportunities and potential customers and analyse their purchasing behavior.
  • Prepare, in collaboration with the technical team, proposals which meet the customer’s needs and are in accordance with Telops criteria.
  • Develop and support a network of US customers and ensure customer loyalty.
  • Represent Telops during trade shows in US.
  • Identify competitors and their respective market position.
  • Participate in the development and execution of the sales and marketing plan.

We solicit passionate salespeople who demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to answer questions and provide technical and scientific information, able to work alone and able to self-motivate. Candidates must possess excellent sales and argumentative skills, result-oriented, strong sense of responsibility, organization, ingenuity and rigor. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate an innate ability to quickly establish a relationship of trust with new clients.

Required criteria are also required, such as:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or physical engineering paired with skills and concrete realization in the field of photonic optics.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of practical work experience in a similar position.
  • Available to travel up to 30-35% of the time.
  • Possessing US Citizenship.
  • Be eligible for an US SECRET facility clearance.
  • A very good command of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word).
