Maintenance Supervisor

Our client is a large-scale company that is firmly established in North America. They specialize in the production of industrial fastening elements. They are currently looking for a maintenance supervisor.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the plant manager, your job will be to supervise, coordinate, and plan the work to be done by the maintenance department's employees and technicians. You will also be responsible for managing resources with a view to maximizing the availability of the plant's equipment. In addition, you will recommend improvements to increase equipment performance and reliability and will be responsible for the integrity and reliability of the maintenance department's documentation.

• Manage shift employees, applying organizational policies, priorities, and productivity goals;
• Work closely with the team of supervisors and foremen to develop optimal maintenance plans for production equipment;
• Diagnose equipment failure in cooperation with technical staff, mechanics, and maintenance department technicians;
• Assist your team in carrying out their tasks and completing reports;
• Establish performance standards, identify performance gaps, implement appropriate corrective action, and point out good performance;
• Propose and put into practice effective preventative / predictive maintenance plans;
• Collaborate with your peers in applying the company's policies;
• Demonstrate professionalism and efficiency in your communications;
• Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, college diploma in mechanical engineering or industrial maintenance, or other relevant education/training;
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing sector;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and with CMMS software;
• Experience in a highly mechanized manufacturing environment;
• Knowledge of moulding machines and/or heat treatment (an asset).
