Manufacturing Engineer - Grinding & Super finishing
Our Client, a leader of devices' and parts' manufacturing in the Aerospace Industry is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer specialized in Grinding and Super Finishing.
This position requires hands on the Grind and super finishing processes of complex configurations, coating and materials and requires a strong background in CNC machining and tooling technologies in order to achieve process improvement and sustainability. Responsibilities will be:

- Coordinate with Contract Sales and Production/ Inventory Control to analyze the production steps and processes in order to minimize production cost, time and/or maximize production quality;
- Evaluate, recommend and implement new equipment or processes needed to meet the customer requirements;
- Recommend specific manufacturing equipment for purchase and /or lease by analyzing product design specification;
- Communicate with customer and/or vendor to resolve particular manufacturing issues;
- Resolve manufacturing problems and optimize super finishing cycles and cost out;
- Coordination of tooling requirements for manufacturing procedures, communicate with floor /inspection (quality assurance) personnel on manufacturing issues and resolve any issues that arise;
- Define and implement inspection methods associated with size and finish controls to 0.0005 and 3ra..
Requirements:
- Engineering degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in super finishing;
- 3 to 5 years of experience with CNC grinding machines and preventive maintenance;
- 5 years minimum experience in CNC programming fixturing and tooling technology optimization;
- Working knowledge of manufacturing process: assembly drawing and procedures, blue print/drawing outline in a machining aerospace environment;
- Experience in the Aerospace industry and tight tolerance machining is preferable;
- Working knowledge of the continuous improvement tools, have realized kaizens;
- Experienced with Microsoft Project and CATIA;
- Ability to lead teams in problem solving and continuous improvement activities;
- Lean manufacturing knowledge is a desirable asset;
- Project management experience is a desirable asset;
- Metallurgy experience is a desirable asset;
- Should be Bilingual – French & English.
Work Location: Montreal.
Salary: $70K / year (Plus annual Bonus).
