Mechanical designer / project manager

Our client, a manufacturing company specialized in the design, manufacture and sale of equipment for the transportation sector, is currently looking for a Mechanical Designer / Project Manager

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the company management, your will have as main mandate to carry out the design of the equipment in accordance with the client's needs, while providing manufacturing support and working in concert with the various stakeholders of the company. As such, you will :

• Participate in the resolution of service cases and assist the after-sales service department in the search for parts ;
• Support the maintenance team in the search for components and identify solutions to keep production equipment in good working order ;
• Document production steps and participate in maintaining engineering specifications ;
• 3D design and drafting of parts and assemblies for manufacturing ;
• Take charge, from start to finish, of product improvement projects (existing or prototypes) and improvement of factory manufacturing processes ;
• Project management (needs analysis, identification of solutions, choice of equipment, monitoring of production and implementation, schedule and costs, etc.) ;
• Work in collaboration with plant foremen to incorporate suggested improvements into shop drawings ;
• Perform every other task compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

• DEC in mechanical engineering or any other relevant training ;
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in design ;
• Knowledges of the design software SolidWorks ;
• Be team-oriented, show organization skills and curiosity ;
• Knowledges in automation, hydraulics and electrical will be considered as important asset.
