Mechanical Draftsman - Designer

Our client is a firmly established manufacturing company specializing in the design, manufacture, and sale of access equipment and handling equipment, with an international client base. They are currently looking for a mechanical draftsman / designer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the head of R&D, your job will be to contribute to the development of various types of equipment designed by the company, to work on improvements to existing products, and to provide technical support to the production team.

• Carry out any other task related to your duties.
• Prepare and develop the layout of manuals and write up technical specifications;
• Produce layout drawings of work platforms based on architectural plans;
• Work in cooperation with project managers in project development and design;
• Elaborate manufacturing methods for the production team;
• Prepare design files for production start-up;
• Carry out modifications on existing parts;
• Correct design problems on existing drawings;
• Inspect drawings;
• Design and produce technical drawings of parts / equipment manufactured by the company;

Required qualification

• College diploma in mechanical engineering or other relevant education and training;
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
• Proficient with parametric 3D design software (preferably SolidWorks or Solid Edge);
• Familiar with the MS Office suite;
• Functional fluency in English.
