MAIN FUNCTIONS

  • Perform design and engineering of vessel mechanical systems including main propulsion and auxiliaries systems, fuel oil and lubricating oil, seawater, HVAC;
  • Perform calculations and applicable verifications;
  • Take part in project management and ensure relations with the client.

REQUIREMENTS

Education level : University - Graduate Bachelor in mechanical or marine engineering.

Years of experience related to the position offered: Minimum of 15 year in vessel mechanical system design.

Description of qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in naval architecture or relevant engineering, for example mechanical engineering with specialisation in naval architecture;
  • The Engineer must have the necessary knowledge to perform design and project engineering, including the knowledge for application of the rules and regulations required by the classification societies;
  • The candidate must also have a good knowledge of the marine industry and must be able to perform feasibility studies and prepare reports;
  • English mandatory, French an advantage.

Professional qualification recognised outside the education network :

Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or of an equivalent recognized order.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Salary offered :   According to experience, starting at $42.00/h

Number of hours per week : 37.50

Various terms : Group insurance after 3 months. Possible overtime. 3 weeks of paid vacation (including one week fixed at Christmas).

Position status : Permanent, full time, day
