Packaging Development Specialist
Description
Continuous improvement of the performance of packaging items.
Responsible for the performance of packaging materials, the candidate will be involved in the following tasks :
- Approval of specifications and drawings of the components;
- Identify the critical elements to be included in packaging inspection specifications;
- Responsible for the process of complaints about the packaging of articles, the candidate will conduct the treatment and follow up the complaints sheets on packaging items;
- Depending on the history of complaints, the candidate will identify the elements to be included in packaging inspection specifications;
- With help from the purchasing department, participate in the approval of corrective action plans issued by component suppliers;
- With the help of the finance department, track reimbursements related to the plans of suppliers actions.
The candidate will participate in the supplier selection process:
- With the help of quality and purchasing department, carry out audits to certain suppliers of critical components for production operations;
- Critically look at the technical capability of suppliers to meet the specifications of the components.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Ensure technical compatibility of packaging products to the specifications of production equipment.
Participate in development projects of components from different customers:
- NPI; New product launches;
- MTO; Improved packaging (marketing request);
- Engineering; Modification of components for new equipment;
- Purchase; Changing components;
- The Packaging Development Specialist will participate in the process of drafting PMO documents;
- Develop packing instructions that will be included in the document PMO;
- Oversee the development of PMO, which is conducted by the technical production assistant and ensure that the final documents will have no impact on the execution of the production;
- Approve the final version of PMO.
Support production operations:
- Provide technical support to production operations to solve problems;
- Optimize operations by packaging improvement projects to reduce production costs;
- Perform a constant technological monitoring to bring the optimization ideas;
- Perform the analysis of causes regarding customer complaints, etc.
Basic requirements :
- University degree in a related discipline combined with three years of experience or college degree combined with relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry;
- Knowledge of packaging equipment;
- PAC Certificate (an asset);
- Very good analytical capability;
- Great communication skills;
- French / English bilingualism (oral and written).
