Planning-inspections technician (transport infrastructures)
Our client, a company whose mission is to manage, operate and maintain various transport infrastructures, whose activities are divided into engineering, construction and maintenance operations is currently seeking, to continue improving the quality and efficiency of its services, for a planning-inspections technician.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the Planning Manager, you will have as main mandate to support the implementation of the practices defining the asset management system through the application of the inspection program: diagnosis, master plan, planning of the projects of the program of investment in physical maintenance and functionality of assets. You contribute to the documentation of the scope of future investments by preparing project sheets, estimating costs as well as ten-year planning. Through cooperation and complementary work between teams, you also participate in the traceability of decisions taken within the framework of asset management, indicate needs and ensure the sharing and quality of the information that circulates between the different parties. stakeholders. In addition, you will offer technical support for the preparation of professional service contracts and ensure the quality and compliance of deliverables. Finally, you will participate in controlling budget and cost management, monitoring deadlines as well as analyzing and processing claims and amendments to asset management. As such, you will :
- Make sure to maintain a good knowledge of the study locations by carrying out field visits and asset surveys as well as by consulting the available documentation ;
- Provide technical support for the achievement of deliverables including management of required traffic maintenance, budget management and schedule monitoring ;
- Monitor, analyze and process detailed monthly contract progress reports (AMDC) on the progress of services inherent in contract management under the guidance of engineers ;
- Support the management of recommendations in collaboration with internal services ;
- Classify and keep records of reports and deliverables received as well as contribute to the quality assurance of deliverables, analysis of reports and recommendation of actions ;
- Visit construction sites to carry out inspections and audits for quality control ;
- Participate in the analysis and compilation of various inventory data, inspection and various statistics on the condition and functionality of structures ;
- Analyze established processes and propose measures to optimize the efforts of various internal and external collaborators and increase the effectiveness of interventions ;
- Support the preparation of annual and decennial program of the deliverable to comply with the internal obligations of the company ;
- Collaborate at the preparation of references terms for the contract attribution, including informations search (rapports, drawing and quotes) on the history, conditions and functionality of the work ;
- Make sure to maintain a good knowledge of the target place by visit on place and by consultation of available documentation ;
- Provide technical support for the definition and the planification of projects : needs and objectives, maintain of works, costs estimations, deadlines and identification of major stakes ;
- Facilitate the corporative decision making, taking into account of the structures life cycle, the active informations and targeting balance between service level, costs and risks ;
- Participate in the active risks management analysis ;
- Provide technical support for the preparation of the coming project files including the costs estimation ;
- Support the preparation and the maintenance of the global timelines of the decennial planification ;
- Design, program and compile data on spreadsheet or database on many subjects ;
- Realize technical drawing of preliminary concept of project, thematic cards or planned projects rendering ;
- Proceed to the data collections and statistics compilations and realize differents inventories contributing for better knowledge of the territory and the works as part of planned projects ;
- Perform every other task compatible with your functions.
Required qualification
- DEC in civil engineering, DEC in architecture, DEC in layout and town planning techniques or any other relevant experience ;
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience ;
- Be familiar with inspection standards, of conception and bridges construction and bridges and artwork and the road or be familiar with estate planning principles of public (an asset) ;
- Health and safety on constructions sites course (ASP) ;
- Experience in cost estimation of construction work ;
- Good knowledges of challenges related to the realization major projects ;
- Be familiar with the security constructions standards ;
- Be able to access to the structures by fixed or mobile devices; not be afraid of heights or confined spaces ;
- Knowledge with softwares: MS Project, Excel, Access, Word, Outlook ;
- Proficiency with Autocad software for drawing assisted by computer (DAO) ;
- Aptitudes to exercise a good judgement in decision making ;
- Show initiative and autonomy and the capacity to work in a team ;
- Be organized, priorities and time management ;
- Be resourceful, curious and eager to document yourself ;
- Adheres to objectives, mission and values of the organization ;
- Proficiency in french at writing and oral speaking and show a good knowledge of english (spoken and written) ;
- Show experience in the use of systems/software geographic database (an asset).
