Process and Continuous Improvement Engineer

Our client is a large international company that has been well-established in Quebec for many years. They specialize in the development and manufacture of products for the residential construction sector. They are currently looking for a process and continuous improvement engineer for their plant located on the south shore near Quebec City.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the head of the continuous improvement department, your job will primarily consist of working on the continuous improvement of production processes. To that end, you will be called upon to improve the organization of the facilities and to identify opportunities for improvement and waste reduction. In addition, you will implement improvement activities using recognized lean manufacturing approaches such as VSM, kaizen, 5S, and problem solving.

• Lead and/or take part in various continuous improvement activities (problem solving, kaizen, VSM, etc.);
• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes and perform waste control;
• Take part in the selection, integration, and set up of new equipment;
• Address quality-related issues on production lines;
• Put into place corrective action as determined in the problem-solving process;
• Contribute to the product development process;
• Establish, plan, coordinate, and see to it that deadlines are respected for continuous improvement projects;
• Conduct time studies and motion studies and determine sequences of operations;
• Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or other relevant education;
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with continuous improvement;
• Practical experience applying lean manufacturing tools;
• Well-acquainted with project management, and experience managing projects;
• Very good knowledge of AutoCAD, Office, Microsoft Project;
• Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
• Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
