Product Development Chemist (Polymer)

Our partner, a multinational company in business for over 30 years and leader in it’s field, is looking for a Product Development Chemist to support it’s growth.

Purpose of the function:

Development of new product (formulations) to enhance performance. Manage development project from research to production implementation in collaboration with other departments. Ensure robustness of the product in production and support problem solving.

Key accountabilities and tasks:

• Management of development project;
• NPD Brief and strategy with objectives and key metrics of each project;
• Support to process for Quality;
• Problem solving and RFT at embryo and block stage of plant / Support production troubleshooting;
• Development of process limits and controls based on the chemical mapping;
• Keep up to date about new chemical / technology which can enhance product performance;
• Technology watch / patent research;
• Responsible of laboratory trial of new formulation of thermoset foam;
• Communicate with current and new supplier to find new solutions;
• Responsible of characterising polymer and interpretation of the result;
• Manage the project development process on the project they are assigned to.

Requirements:

• Degree educated in Chemistry;
• 5-10 years in product development of thermoset polymer. Formulations of polymer from monomer is mandatory;
• Organised and professional approach. Strong polymer chemistry knowledge. Data analysis and problem solving skills;
• Bilingual: English and French;
• IT knowledge (Office suite), Basic statistic knowledge, Design of experiment.
