Position summary
As part of our growth, we are looking for a Product Manager. You will be responsible to work closely with the Product Development Manager, the Graphics Manager, and the VP Marketing to build and strengthen their product categories.
Your main responsibilities will be as follow:
- Develop all marketing collateral for respective categories;
- Manage the product life cycle of all products in respective categories;
- Responsible for monthly and yearly business results for respective product lines;
- Explore and suggest new business opportunities to the PDM;
- Define, suggest, and execute marketing (4Ps) strategies to maximize the growth of the categories;
- Play an integral role in the product brand strategy;
- Assess and deliver product and packaging specifications (i.e. trademarks, etc);
- Develop and deliver monthly product plan (PE) including estimating demand;
- Define and approve communications strategies with Marketing / Communication team;
- Suggest launch plans, manage, and lead implementations;
- Visit customers to get market feedback, visit suppliers and attend trade shows;
- Deliver on corporate actions and take lead on various strategies/tactics;
- Define business models and value propositions by deeply understanding the market trends and consumer behaviours;
- Define and track product sales targets and product margin targets (i.e. pricing);
- Work closely with operational team to make sure it follows business targets and current market trends;
- Track key product market information (legislative and utility);
- Work with Business development and Supply chain to source new products;
- Build, present and oversee training for product line to both customers and representatives;
- Suggest mid-term growth plan for respective product lines.
Required skills and qualifications
Competencies
- Ability to work well under pressure, and with tight deadlines;
- Works well with a team but autonomy is very important;
- Great attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Excellent workplace attitude;
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize;
- Self-motivated and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or related field;
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar position;
- Experience in the lighting industry is definitely an asset;
- Knowledge of SAP is an asset;
- Excellent knowledge of MS office;
- Bilingual.
