Production Manager
Our client is a well-established manufacturing company that develops, manufactures, and installs high-quality doors and windows. They are currently looking for a production manager.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of company management, your job will be to plan, organize, control, and oversee all activities related to production, with a view to reaching the plant's general operational objectives. In addition, you will promote a culture of health and safety in the workplace, as well as quality and customer service, with an overall spirit of continuous improvement.
- Prioritize, coordinate and manage the full range of day-to-day production activities;
- Work on technical improvements to products;
- Perform weekly production planning based on the schedule that has been set out in cooperation with the sales department, and make sure the plan is followed;
- Plan out the use of human resources based on production schedules;
- See to it that production methods are improved in order to optimize the plant's productivity;
- Keep raw materials inventory up to date in order to maintain a steady flow of production;
- Manage equipment and building maintenance and various subcontractors;
- See to it that and work standards and procedures are followed, that quality standards are maintained, and that workplace health and safety regulations are complied with;
- Work together with company management on managing various capitalization projects;
- Make sure that orders are prepared and shipped on time;
- Establish individual and group objectives for your team and follow up on said objectives;
- Foster a working environment conducive to respect, cooperation, motivation, accountability, and performance;
- Serve as a resource person for various product certifications (NFRC, CSA, and ENERGY STAR);
- Identify employees' training and professional development needs and inform management of them;
- Carry out any other task related to your duties.
Required qualification
- Technical diploma in administration, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, production management, or other relevant studies;
- Minimum de 8 années d'expérience pertinente;
- Significant experience in the manufacturing sector;
- Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD;
- Experience with the field of doors and windows, as well as personnel management;
- Functionally bilingual (spoken and written French and English);
- Proficient with standard computer-based tools (MS Office, ERP, etc.).
