Production Supervisor

Our client is a company specializing in the manufacture of plastic products (injection moulding). They are currently looking for a production supervisor.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the CEO, your job will be to organize, control, and oversee production activities in order to achieve the company's overall operational goals.

• Oversee the management of the plant's production activities, via the team of 3 foremen, and ensure that the company's regulations are applied;
• Carry out a daily meeting with customer service and the head foreman in order to do the production update;
• Update the production computer register and ensure that quantities are compliant with inventory management;
• Carry out a weekly production planning meeting with customer service, the head foreman, and the CEO;
• Make sure you have the materials needed in order to respect the quantities to be produced in a given week; in the event of a problem, fill out an order form;
• Ensure that you have the human resources needed (via the placement agency) in order to respect the production schedule;
• Approve the plant employees’ time cards, as well as those of workers sent by the agency;
• Maintain the nomenclature (Bill of Materials) for each product;
• Manage unexpected circumstances and production-related problems in an efficient, timely way;
• Ensure that an approved sample of each production element is available at all times;
• Visit each machine (at the beginning of the day and in the afternoon) in order to check production quality based on samples;
• Work on improving production methods in order to optimize plant productivity;
• Maintain a positive working environment that encourages a high level of motivation;
• Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

• College diploma in administration, plastics processing, industrial engineering, mechanics, production management, or other relevant education and training;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a work team in the manufacturing sector;
• A leader, a skilled communicator, and a motivator;
• Proficient with standard computer software;
• Demonstrates an ability to listen and understand; management skills;
• Experience with plastics processing is considered an asset.
