Production Supervisor, Painting and Finishing Department (Institutional Furniture and High-End Cabinets)

Our client is a company built on innovation, specializing in the manufacture of cabinets and high-end architectural cabinetmaking elements for North American hotel and residential clients. They have state-of-the-art facilities. They are currently looking for a production supervisor for their painting and finishing department.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the plan manager, your job will be to coordinate and control your department’s production activities and to ensure that productivity and quality goals are reached.

• Plan, organize, and control the activities of the painting and finishing department;
• Train, evaluate, and supervise the staff under your responsibility;
• Serve as a technical reference for the members of your team for everything to do with painting (application, mixing and selection of colours, drying, etc.);
• Identify opportunities for improvement of productivity (lowering costs) and actively contribute to the implementation thereof;
• Ensure that optimal use is made of production equipment, human resources, and raw materials;
• Identify opportunities for improvement to quality and actively contribute to the implementation thereof;
• Create and maintain a working environment that promotes a high level of motivation;
• Keep the workplace clean and safe;
• Lead various meetings with your team in order to provide for a high degree of employee participation with regards to work organization and reaching goals;
• Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

• College diploma in furniture and milled wood techniques, vocational diploma in cabinetmaking, furniture finishing, or other relevant education and training;
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
• Highly knowledgeable of wood staining and treatment;
• Skilled in supervision, mobilization, and communication.
