Our client is a company specializing in the field of metalworking and steel structures, dealing with the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. They are currently looking for a project manager / estimator.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of company management, your job will be to manage and produce estimates for various projects within specific budget and timeline constraints, working closely with the company's various involved parties.

  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.
  • Ensure that quality standards are respected as stipulated in contractual documents;
  • Communicate with clients regarding any questions related to the projects;
  • Establish work schedules;
  • Work with the buyer to track the management of purchases attributable to your projects;
  • Calculate quantities required;
  • Work alongside the plant manager to plan and prepare the work to be done on the project in the plant;
  • Carefully control work sites in order to provide effective site management and an understanding of clients' expectations;
  • Monitor project costs;
  • Take care of project start-up;
  • Prepare project schedules;
  • Analyze all documents in order to make sure the details are correct;
  • See projects through from acceptance to final payment;

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering, college diploma in civil engineering or architecture, or any other relevant education and training;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Excellent ability to read drawings and specifications;
  • Knowledge and skills with standard computer-based tools.
