Project Manager (Infrastructure)
Our client is a construction company specializing in the design, construction, and rehabilitation of municipal infrastructure (aqueducts and sewage systems). They are the Canadian subsidiary of an international company with a presence in 25 countries. They are currently looking for a project manager.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of company management, your job will be to plan, organize, oversee and monitor various urban and municipal infrastructure projects within specified budgets and timeframes, working closely with superintendents.
- See projects through from acceptance to final payment;
- Prepare bids;
- Represent the company in dealings with clients;
- Plan the schedules for your projects;
- Prepare and contribute to coordination schedules between subcontractors and monitor them;
- Ensure that sites are organized and identify needs;
- Control construction costs and write up follow-up reports;
- Ensure that quality standards are respected as stipulated in contractual documents;
- Serve as a liaison between suppliers, subcontractors, and others with regards to projects for which you are responsible;
- Write up project follow-up reports and progress reports;
- Take care of administrative aspects of work sites: reports, notice of change and/or extra and anything else that comes up in the course of a project;
- Deal with problems that arise on site as well as agreements with clients on contingencies, claims, and other technical and financial subjects related to projects;
- Get approval for extra work;
- Check and adjust work site budgets;
- Call and participate in various types of site meetings (administrative, technical, and coordination).
Required qualification
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or other relevant education;
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience;
- Experience working with infrastructure projects;
- Functionally bilingual (French and English);
- Knowledge and proficiency with computer-based tools such as Word, Excel, and MS Project;
- Member of l’Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
