Project manager - production engineering

Our client, an important company specialized in the development and the manufacturing of a wide range of technical polymer and rubber compound products intended for a very diversified clientele, is currently looking, for one of its divisions, an industrial engineer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the coordinator – production engineering, you will have as main mandate to be responsible for the production setting of the products assigned to you. For this purpose, you will collaborate closely with the development, quality, and production department. Once the start of production is complete, you will ensure that efficiency and quality standards are met, and you will offer support to the production. Finally, you will participate in improvment projects, both at the level of the production process and the support process. As such, you will :

• Create and maintain up to date the manufacturing range in the computer system ;
• Conceive and keep updated the working methods ;
• Design the workstation layout, working cells and the factory in general ;
• Balance the work cells in a way to meet the customers requests ;
• Establish the internal Kanban needs and put them in place ;
• Design and ensure the internal jigs and tools manufacturing necessary for the products manufacturing ;
• Perform the management jigs and internal tools ;
• Supervise the acceptance parts manufacturing ;
• Develop the flow diagram, products AMDEC and any other documents required by the client for the approval of those ;
• Support production in terms of methods and work organization ;
• Approve the real manufacturing time and readjust ranges and methods as needed ;
• Perform all necessary follow-up to ensure the start of the production ;
• Manage improvement and specials projects (costs, processes, tools, Kaizen) ;
• Provide the necessary ways and support to all the department (production, supply, quality, customer service, finance) for the implementation and the maintenance of the Lean manufacturing tools (5S, unit flow, SMED, Kanban, Gemba walk, etc.) ;
• Perform every other task compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

• Bachelor in industrial engineering, DEC in industrial engineering, or any other relevant training ;
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing sector ;
• Proficiency in MS Office ;
• Good command of French and English (spoken and written) ;
• Experience in multiple projects management ;
• Knowledge of a drawing software (an asset).
