Project Manager / Technical Support for Sales

Our client is a company that specializes in the distribution of mechanical and hydraulic power transmission equipment. They are currently looking for a project manager for their technical department.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of company management, your job will be to manage various projects and, once your integration into the company is complete, to coordinate the engineering department.

• Design and develop plans, technical drawings and shop drawings (3D) for power units ;
• Plan and organize project assembly by preparing project specifications ;
• Monitor production projects in the workshop ;
• Diagnose and solve mechanical, electrical and electronic (instrumentation and control) issues ;
• Program control panels for industrial motors and generating sets ;
• Write up the Bill of Materials (BOM) and the time allocated to production of various lines of assembled products and power units (value-added products) ;

• Work in conjunction with the shop manager to track and manage projects in order to respect deadlines, costs, and specifications for the company’s value-added products ;
• Review applications ;
• Provide technical support for the selection and validation of products in accordance with the application (radiator, ECU, exhaust system, calculating the power requirements, etc.) and perform technical and cost feasibility studies ;
• Assist the workshop with testing and quality control ;
• Communicate with the engineering departments of the company’s manufacturers and suppliers ;
• Supervise progress and provide weekly progress reports ;
• Prepare requisitions for inventory items needed for production (BOM) ;
• Take part in the weekly project meeting ;
• Manage the library of engineering data ;
• Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

• College diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other relevant studies ;
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience ;
• Good knowledge of mechanics, electricity, and electronics (instrumentation and control) ;
• Skilled with 3D design software such as SolidWorks ;
• Good interpersonal skills ;
• Bilingual (spoken and written French and English).
