Quality Assurance Manager - Commercial Woodworking
Our Client, a well-known manufacturer in the field of commercial woodworking, is looking for a Product Quality Manager with a primary focus on quality of consumer metal and wood products before, during manufacturing product life cycle. This person will also provide support as needed on new product development projects
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities and operations of the Quality Assurance department;
- Create, maintains and ensures all policies, procedures, documentations, and records are up to date and meet all requirements;
- Receive and process customers’ quality complaints and provide corrective/preventive action report after coordination with the respective departments;
- Assure total compliance to all company Quality policies;
- Ensure appropriate procedures are followed for sampling and testing of raw materials, in process and finished products;
- Respond to consumer/client requests for information;
- Provides employee training and development support so employees can master and apply the programs;
- Coordinate QA resources across multiple projects in collaboration with the Project Management team;
- Provide guidance to the QA team members in preparing and executing test plans and test cases;
- Provide guidance in the review and assessment of test results.
- Communicate clearly and promptly the status to the project’s stakeholders;
- Facilitate the creation and follow-through the personal training plans of the QA team members;
- Contribute to ongoing efforts to refine and improve the company’s test methodologies, and internal testing tools;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationship with the cross functional teams within the organization;
- Manages the various Quality Insurance Programs;
- Audits and reviews all programs and procedures on an annual basis;
- Updates the various literature (manuals, procedures, instructions, etc.);
- Carries out plant inspections and lends his support to the appropriate departments to resolve non-compliance issues;
- Manage training records of employees;
- Prepares SOP's and maintains SOP files;
- Prepares raw material and finished product specifications;
- Maintains retained samples of raw materials, fill materials, and finished products
- Samples raw materials;
- Audits production batch records;
- Maintain document archives;
- Conduct product investigations as required by customers or Company;
- Coordinate and approve Change Control Requests
- Provide back up to the V.P. of Quality
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field;
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment;
- Basic Knowledge of MRP;
- Proficiency in MS Office tools;
- Basic CAD tools experience as well as demonstrated ability to produce high quality specification and documentation;
- Superior communication and interpersonal;
- Bilingual: French / English;
- Superior organizational skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines;
- Autonomous, meticulous, and detailed oriented.
