Our client, an agri-food processing plant leader in the production of applesauce, is looking for a quality assurance and control specialist. Resposibilities

Reporting to the Quality Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for advising on quality assurance and quality control. More specifically, it will be called upon to:

  • Organising and ensuring the efficient execution of the quality control of the finished products and being processed according to the specifications, in accordance with the requirements of the customers.
  • Participate and maintain the various documents relating to quality procedures, customer requests, HACCP, SQF and other certifications.
  • Ensure compliance of operations in conjunction with HACCP, SQF and other certifications requirements.
  • Participate in the document management process.
  • Make follow-up of corrective action requests and internal and external non-conformities within the prescribed deadlines and issue an action plan to avoid recurrence.
  • Participate in HACCP, SQF and other certifications such as organic, kosher, natural health products, C-TPAT and all other quality-related training.
  • Participate in the supplier approval process.
  • Update documentation and quality programs.
  • Participate in the non-conformity management process.
  • Plan the sampling of finished products, raw materials and water and ensure the effective and proper execution of the procedures in place.
  • Documenting tests.
  • Draw system deductions, identify actions to be taken (if necessary, use AQL-type statistical method), inspect the product and complete the associated documentation.
  • Perform other duties related to quality control or quality assurance at the request of the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

  • College diploma in science or food processing.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a similar position.
  • Autonomy and leadership.
  • Respect of procedures.
  • Ability to manage priorities.
  • Be a rallyer in addition to being a trainer and communicator.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Facility with the computer tools (Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite).
  • Forklift license is an asset for handling deductions
  • Bilingual
